Description
HV-DIA 18K Diamond Cast
HV-DIA 18K is a two component 100% solid epoxy resin, with a thicker, more viscous consistency.
It is a popular choice for creating beautiful and durable tabletops and art pieces as it can create more substantial layers with the ability to hold texture and form. High viscosity epoxy is particularly advantageous when it comes to achieving sharp edges in epoxy resin projects without the need for tape damming.
Additionally, high-quality high viscosity resin is known for its exceptional clarity, allowing for the creation of crystal-clear, glossy finishes making it an ideal resin for artists and crafters.
FEATURES & BENEFITS
– Nonylphenol Free: Safer and environmentally friendly.
– 100% Solid: Ensures a robust, durable application.
– Easy Application: User-friendly for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts.
– Gloss, Easy to Clean Finish: Provides a sleek, low-maintenance surface.
– Ability to Hold Texture and Form: Ideal for detailed work without excessive spreading.
– Less Prone to Flowing and Spreading Excessively: Maintains shape, reducing the need for tape damming.
– Highly Viscous: Achieves sharp edges and cleaner finishes.
– High Chemical Resistance: Withstands harsh chemicals for long-lasting protection.
– Dripping Prevention: High viscosity resins are thicker and have greater flow resistance compared to low viscosity counterparts. This makes them an ideal application for countertops, tables and art projects were the high viscosity helps prevent the resin from running or dripping before it cures.
– Reduced Sagging: The thicker consistency of high viscosity resin helps reduce sagging or slumping during application, especially on vertical or overhead surfaces. This ensures that the resin stays in place until it cures.
PACKAGING KITS
– 3kg Kit: Contains Component A & B
– 7.5kg Kit: Contains Component A & B
COVERAGE
– Approx. 2-3kg/m?? recommended.
*Note: Coverage figures are theoretical. Practical coverage rates may vary due to wastage factors, site condition, profile, and porosity of the substrate.
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Pour the hardener component B into the resin component A.
2. Mix both components for a minimum of 3 minutes using a low-speed paddle mixer (300-400 rpm).
3. Use a spatula to scrape the sides and bottom of the bucket.
4. For thorough mixing, pour the resin into a clean bucket and mix for an additional minute.
PRODUCT APPLICATION
1. Once mixed, apply HV-DIA immediately in a thick continuous film at 2-3kg/m??.
2. Prior to applying HV-DIA, prime the surface with bonding primer Bondex 421.
3. Work the resin into the surface using a notched trowel.
4. The coating is approximately touch dry in 3 hours at 20??C, making it ideal for countertop or table coatings. Adjust your techniques as needed to achieve the desired level of detail.
HV-DIA High Viscosity Epoxy is perfect for applications requiring a detailed, durable, and chemical-resistant finish, providing both professionals and DIY enthusiasts with a reliable solution for a variety of surfaces.
Safety: It’s important to use resin in a well-ventilated area and wear appropriate safety gear, such as gloves and eye protection, due to its fumes and potential skin irritants. Proper safety measures are essential when working with resin.
